After your initial consultation it is time to make the big decision. Should you have the plastic surgery procedure you are interested in, or not? In making the decision don’t be afraid to ask all of the questions that come into your mind. Research the topic. Do you have friends or relatives who have had plastic surgery in the past? If so, and if they are willing to discuss it with you then getting the benefits of their insight could be beneficial to you.
Do Your Homework and Research Your Procedure
Research the topic of plastic surgery also. Go online and do Internet searches to find all of the informative websites and articles that you can. Stop by the library and ask the research librarian to assist you in gaining knowledge about the procedure you are considering and about plastic surgery in general. Look at photos, online and in the library. And if the plastic surgeon has provided you with contact information for referrals then by all means contact them. Most will be quite happy to discuss it with you and let you know if the procedure was everything they expected it to be, and if it solved the problems they were seeking help with. Above all, ask them if, knowing what they know now, there is anything that they would have done differently.
Financial Considerations Are Important
Finances are a consideration for many people. How do you plan to pay for the procedure? Plastic surgery, after all, doesn’t come cheaply.   Will your insurance company pay for all or part of the procedure? Does your physician have a financing plan, or perhaps an arrangement with a financial services company to make affordable monthly payments? How about your bank or credit union? Or perhaps you have a medical savings account or some other source of ready cash you’ve set aside for the procedure.
Sleep On It – Don’t Make A Hasty Decision
Sleep on it. Don’t ever make a hasty decision concerning something as important as a medical procedure. Meditate on the subject and let your mind relax and get used to the idea. Many people with strong religious convictions even feel that praying about the subject helps them to make a sound decision. Do what feels right for you. It is your body, and your procedure, so you are the only one who can truly decide what is right for you in this matter.
