Breast Augmentation is a surgical procedure for those women who feel that the breasts are too small or have become too small after childbearing. For many of these women breast enlargement may be the right operation, and for others simple breast refinement. Often times an implant is placed into the breast area behind the natural breast tissue, either on top of the pectoral muscle or under it. This fills out the breast, lifts them and enlarges them in a natural and pleasing to the eye fashion.
The breast lift is a common procedure performed when there is too much skin laxity and too much sagging. In this case a breast enlargement alone is usually not sufficient to produce the desired result. Most women want lifting, filling-out, and shaping. The reasons for sagging can be child birth, aging or weight loss. A breast lift or mastopexy may be the best bet here. In this procedure the doctor will remove excess ski and the breast tissue will be compacted. The entire breast will be elevated to a more youthful location. This procedure is often combined with insertion of an implant.
Many women feel as though their breasts are too large and seek breast reduction. If the problem is breast that are too large, pendulous or heavy then breast reduction can provide an answer. Breast reduction or reduction mammaplasty allows the doctor to sculpt the breast and even over sized areolas, lifting them to be both appealing and comfortable. Many women who have breast that are too large suffer from back and neck pain and other problems.
