Each labiaplasty case is customized according to the patient’s unique needs.  The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia, but a labiaplasty may also be done under local or IV with sedation.  The surgeon makes incisions to remove the excess tissue or to correct uneven labia.  Patients usually do not need to stay overnight and recovery only takes about ten days.  There is minimal discomfort when having a labiaplasty procedure and it typically does not affect sexual sensation.  However, when women feel more confident about the appearance of their genitalia they start to feel more confident and enjoy their sex life again.
