As we get older and we begin to age, our facial appearance changes. For some of us, this change is more drastic than for others. With modern stresses, pollution and lifestyles, aging is often showing up in our faces sooner than we would like! There is a growing trend across the Nation to have a mini lift to maintain youth and beauty. A mini lift, as opposed to a full facelift, may be all that is required for many people to take away the appearance of time. Less lifting is involved in a mini lift, and less recovery time since less of the face must be restored. This procedure is also known as a short scar face lift, as a shift, a baby boomer facelift, a weekend facelift and as the limited incision face lift. But many people just call it a wonderful solution to their needs.
All lift procedures address particular zones of the face. Cheeks, central neck or jowls can be addressed, and a mini lift can have a very significant, and positive impact on appearance.
One Type of Mini Lift is the Mid Face lift
One popular variety of the mini lift is the mid face lift. It can be part of a full face lift or performed as a stand alone procedure. The mid face lift places its focus on the central cheek region, between the corner of the mouth and the lower eyelid. For some people most of the evidence of aging on an otherwise still youthful face is in this area. In others more advanced aging is noticeable in this area. A mid face lift will often require incisions both in the hairline and the inside of the mouth, and at times an endoscope, a miniature TV camera will be used by the physician to assist him or her in the process. If a patient has sagging mid cheeks a mid face lift is an excellent choice.
Good Candidates Are Those With Good Skin Integrity
The ideal candidate for the mini face lift are those people in their 30s and 40s who notice signs of aging through sagging skin, but still have good quality of skin. Especially when there are specific areas to target for the mini lift, this much less invasive procedure works particularly well on jowls and neck. Smaller incisions and shorter time under anesthesia make it a popular choice.
Why Have A Mini Lift?
Some cosmetic surgery patients feel as though a mini lift is giving themselves a very special reward. If they are in their forties and want to look in the mirror and see themselves looking more as they did in their mid thirties, then the idea of a mini lift is easy to understand. As baby boomers and Generation X both get a bit older, the need for procedures to help them age gracefully coincides with affordability and safety. The mini lift is gaining widespread popularity across North America and it might be right for you!
